Subnautica 2 Seamoth
Your first real freedom from swimming. Fast, agile, but Reaper-grabbable. Seamoth is the right tool for 0 – 500 m exploration; the wrong one for everything around the Aurora and below the Grand Reef.

Troubleshooting
- ! My Seamoth keeps getting one-shot by something in the dark.
Cause: Below 100 m the Seamoth's 300 HP is fragile. Cave Crawlers, Bonesharks, and especially Reapers chip-damage you fast.
- Equip Perimeter Defense module — biggest survivability upgrade.
- Slot a Hull Reinforcement in second module — +200 HP buffer.
- Keep a Repair Tool in vehicle inventory — top up between encounters.
- For deep work (Lost River +): switch to Prawn Suit — its 900 m base depth + drill kills hostiles cleanly.
- ! I keep losing my Seamoth — I park it and can't find it again.
Cause: Seamoth is small and currents push it slightly. Also, depth visibility falls off at 50 m+.
- Drop a Beacon on the Seamoth before exiting — a small radio transponder marks its location.
- On the world map screen, your last-parked Seamoth shows as a marker.
- In multiplayer (Sub2 EA): teammate can drive it to you — verbal coordinate yell.
- If lost permanently: Mobile Vehicle Bay rebuild with the same fragments scanned.
- ! My Seamoth depth gauge says 196 m but it's already cracking.
Cause: Hull damage starts at ~95 % of rated depth, not at the exact limit. Pressure damage compounds.
- Treat the rated depth as a safe ceiling, not a target.
- Surface 30 m for a few seconds before pushing limits — resets the warning.
- If hull integrity is below 50 %: repair before continuing. Pressure damage is unrecoverable mid-dive.
- Upgrade to next MK module before going below 80 % of current rating.
